The subject Emergency REMOVAL sounds very scary: It can be applied immediately after unwanted shape and color eyebrows procedure to light as much as possible. LI-FT is a saline based and represents no harm to the skin. The chances of scarring are very slim. For sure it looks red and irritated for several days but it will subside and the scabbing will help the skin to eliminate unwanted ink. Of course, as any other product in the market, it shall be applied acco rdingly since our goal here is to promote great results. It can take several sessions (with at least 8 weeks in between) but it will progressively fade the color til the point another work can be done. Emergency removal works on preventing the skin to get pigmented so it will be easier to change shape and color. Results vary from on client to another since a lot of variables can be presented, but even if the client needs extra removal sessions it won ́t be as many as if not removed immediately.

Emergency removal can be applied just on the first 24h after the procedure is performed. After that it is not recommended since the healing process will be already taking place. The goal on this procedure is to minimize the pigment retention in order to avoid a future removal procedure, which will be more invasive and painful. For this procedure we will need the items below:

Emergency Removal Protocol:
  1. Apply the anesthetic for 20 min and cover with plastic film. Remove the numbing
    cream before starting.
  2. Warm up 8oz of saline or distilled water in a clean glass bowl.
  3. Apply warm saline/water compresses on the area to OPEN the pores, repeat 3
    times.
  4. Apply LI-FT on the area and spread with the microtip in circular
    movements for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Apply the plastic film and leave it for 5 min. Keep the warm compresses on the
top of the film. The heat will enhance the effect of the product.
  6. Wipe the LI-FT product with gauze wet on saline.
  7. Repeat the process 2 more times.
  8. Wipe it completely with saline wipes or damp cotton rounds.
  9. Send the client home with post procedure care instructions.
Post procedure care:
  1. Don ́t go to the beach, pool, hot yoga, gym, sauna for 2 weeks.
  2. Wash the face at least twice/day using DIAL soap or cetaphyl.
  3. Always pat dry with paper towel, never use a cloth towel due to risk of infection.
  4. Change pillowcases every night.
  5. Never pick the scabs! It can lead to infection and scars as a result.
  6. No makeup around the eyebrows until completely healed.
  7. Apply Vitamin E oil 2-3 times/day to prevent itching.

Depending on how deep the ink was implanted, the client might need another
session(s) of regular removal in the future. No procedure can be done in less than
8 weeks after emergency removal.

Disclaimer: Same as regular cosmetic tattooing removal described below.

LI-FT PMU COSMETIC TATTOOING REMOVAL

 Shake LI-FT for 30 seconds and pour into single use large pigment cup.
 Eyebrows, eyeliner (top and bottom) and lips are an appropriate size areas to work
on for in one single session unless the client is extremely sensitive. LI-FT should be
in contact with the internal part of the eyes. Be careful and apply small amounts
with a microtip instead of a regular cotton swab.
 Under no circumstances should the removal procedure be performed again within a
minimum of eight weeks. A minimum of eight weeks of healing after every session
is critical for a healthy healing process. The integrity of the skin and the lightening
results are contingent upon meeting this requirement. Longer periods between
sessions may be required for people with medical conditions that result in a slower
healing process, but were still considered a good candidate for the LI-FT
procedure. Technicians have the responsibility to determine the appropriate length
of time in excess of eight weeks between sessions based on the client’s health
profile.

 An anesthetic for pre-procedure purposes should be used to reduce discomfort.
 Clean the area with alcohol 70% or green soap 10% to remove all impurities,
makeup and skin care products residue. Apply the first numbing cream, cover with
plastic film and let it stay for 30 minutes.
 After that, remove the anesthetic with a damp in distilled water cotton round or
saline wipes. Start “opening” the skin dipping the needle cartridge in the LI-FT
solution.
 Once the first pass has been completed with the chosen needle configuration, an
additional anesthetic that doesn ́t contain epinephrine shall be used. Do not use
any anesthetic that contains epinephrine after the skin being open. It is important
for the body to respond normally to the removal procedure without the influence of
epinephrine.
 The appropriate needle size and motion technique is to be used based on the
pattern and size of the area to be lightened and the condition of the client’s skin.
This product was created to be used by technicians who have had proper training
and educated ability to choose the appropriate needle configuration for the LI-FT
procedure.
 Dip the needle into the LI-FT solution. Open the skin by employing circular/oval,
pointillism or tapping movements. Select the movement technique that best suits
the skin type and the needle being used. Only make the number of passes required
to open the skin to effectively deliver the LI-FT product to the target area. Depth
and pressure used should be just as one would use to implant pigment. No more,
no less.
 After passes are complete, use a cotton swab or microtip to generously apply LI-FT
to the area, saturating the entire area. Cover the area with plastic film for better
absorption. Leave LI-FT on for several minutes then gently wipe away with a
dampened single-use cotton pad or saline wipes. The area will show signs of
inflammation and body fluids will be visible in most instances.
 Repeat the process if necessary until the area gets visibly red.
 After gently wiping off the solution, cleanse with LI’s Tea Tree Toner or
distilled/saline water.
 Send the client home with after care instructions (and products if needed)

AFTERCARE

Dry healing has resulted in optimum results over the years, if the client is active we
highly recommend a proper “downtime” to prevent infections and possible scarring.
Written aftercare instructions should include the need for the client to avoid contact
with the procedural area directly with hands that have not been thoroughly washed.
For several hours, and in some instances longer, the wound may weep lymph blood
and fluid. These fluids can be blotted off by applying pressure (no rubbing) with a
slightly moist cotton round.

The procedural area should be cleansed with a product such as Cetaphil, Cerave,
Dial Soap or gentle products without fragrance or cleansers containing AHA or
similar. Face should be washed 2-3 times/day
Advise the client that topical cosmetics may not be applied over the procedural area
to diffuse or hide the appearance of the wound. Cosmetics may contain ingredients
that are irritating to healing wounds, may also contain bacteria, and also require
removal which entails contact with the crusts of the worked area.
Advise the client to take measures to keep the area dry when bathing. While
showering, people who have this procedure done shall turn their back to the shower
spray and gently blot off any moisture with a paper towel until all the scabbing is
over.
To keep the area moist and avoid itching, your client can apply Vitamin E oil after
washing the face.
Also advise the client do change their pillowcases every night to avoid contact with
bacteria.
Advise the client that under no circumstances should the crusts that develop over
the wound be removed or picked. The crusts will become less noticeable with the
natural exfoliation of the dead skin cells that are naturally replaced by the body
during the healing process.
Clients should be advised that if any sign of infection is seen, they should consult
their physician as soon as possible.

DISCLAIMER

LI-FT is for body art professionals, traditional and cosmetic tattooists only.
Technicians are advised to contact their insurance provider regarding appropriate
coverage. If tattoo lightening /removal is not covered by your general policy, a
separate policy may be required. Professional tattoo lightening or removal
insurance coverage is required for use of LI-FT.

LI-FT is a pigment lightening solution formulated for cosmetic tattoos on the face
and for areas of body art to lighten tattoos. Tattoo lightening with LI-FT is prohibited
on areas below the knee, below the wrist and on the genital areas. It is also
prohibited to be used on people with medical conditions that would adversely affect
the healing process without written consent from a physician.

Results will vary depending on, but not limited to, the client’s skin condition, health
profile, the ability to heal well, the type and color of pigment to be lightened, depth
of pigment placement, technique used, the configuration of needle used and
compliance with LI-FT aftercare instructions. Some tattoo lightening procedures will
be more or less successful, based on these factors.

Use with extreme caution on darker skin (Fitz types V-VI), any other skin type that
shows signs of previous hyper or hypo pigmentation, or if the technician suspects
that the skin may react in that manner from minor wounds. A pre-procedure test for
hyper or hypo pigmentation on these skin types is required. Following the
instructions above, implant a small amount of the LI-FT product into an area of no

more than one half square inch (1.25cm) in length and width. Allow the pre-
procedure test to heal and reevaluate the worked area after 8 weeks. If hyper or

hypo pigmentation is evident, no further use of LI-FT is endorsed. Client history

charts must be properly documented to reflect the pre-procedure test and pre-and-
post healed photographs available upon request.

 The timing for a tattoo lightening/removal procedure is important. Clients with
special events, travel plans, or who work in an environment with the possibility of
high bacterial exposure should choose the timing for the lightening procedure so
aftercare instructions do not conflict with these activities or workplace schedules.
 All clients are required to complete a pigment lightening/removal consent form
indicating they do, or do not, have any allergies to the following ingredients: Aloe
Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum,
Calendula Officinalis, Hydroxethyl Cellulose, Sodium Benzonate, Potassium
Sorbate. If a client indicates an allergy to any of the listed ingredients, they may be
offered to purchase a new sealed container of LI-FT and consult with their
physician for allergy testing. The diagnosis (results of the medically conducted
allergy test) is to be provided to the technician and maintained in the client’s file. If a
client indicates an allergy to any of the ingredients, but cannot or will not pursue a
physician conducted allergy test, the use of LI-FT is prohibited.
